yessssssssssh!
Just checked ANN and, hang on a sec... ~takes a deep breath~

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSH!!! ~starts massively fangirling~

Skip Beat! is being made into an anime! It's being made into an anime! This totally makes the fall so much better. I'm haven't really been following for the last few seasons but this, this makes me very very pleased. I mean, yeah, I generally hate shoujo because it bores me to tears and I want to kill all the characters but this, this awesome series is not just the only shoujo I can stand, but it's also my favorite manga. I mean...Kyoko! Kyoko is such an awesome main character! I couldn't ask for a better shoujo heroine. And Ren! Ren's just pure awesomeness. ~fangirls~

Moko too! She's such a Natsuki and she's really awesome too andand...

I can't wait to see all the scenes animated and stuff. Like the chicken suit, and like Kyoko's demons and voodoo and like...YESH!!! YESH!!

Excuse me while I go fangirl and be incoherent some more.

rargh and Blue Drop
The practice LSAT still sitting on my desk is such a gloomy thing to look at. It just fills me with so much dread and I really have to take it tomorrow. I got by today and the day before by hiding from my dad and him being more concerned about other things but...urgh. Can only procrastinate so much. ~hits head on desk and keeps it there~

yada nuuuuuuuh

But yeah, spent most of the day on break from my furious Pokemon playing because I just caught up and surpassed my brother. Though I'm totally going for the Umbreon backup which will take forever and my Skarmory egg hasn't hatched yet. And duude! Jolteon doesn't learn Thunderbolt! Wtheck? That's so stupid! Thundershock doesn't get anywhere and I hate gambling which is what using Thunder and Zap Cannon is. And like, I already need 4000 coins to buy my Kingdra Ice beam and now this too? And I'm not even going to try the slots so I'm just going to buy the 500 coins again and again...and I don't have that kind of money seeing how I'm already poor because of stupid Steak! ~eats it again~ Um anyway...

Finally finished watching Blue Drop. Good fun even though you knew it was going to have a horribly tragic ending. I mean, the whole old-school shoujo setting and feeling (which was way cool and loved in muchies) was totally a tip off that it'll be all "their love is too good for the world universe and therefore it will end!!! bwahahaha ~chokesob~"

spoilers and rants? )

2nd Season Gunslinger Girls = MASSIVE FAIL
I haven't been watching any anime lately but friend mentioned that there was a second season to Gunslinger Girls. So naturally I figured I'd go watch since I'm extremely fond of the series. It was the first anime I torrented and stuff. Plus, if it's going to be 2nd season--Pinocchio arc!! Triela! But, three minutes into the show, I gave up.

Yes, it was that bad. So bad it was like a parody of original show/manga.

I mean--sure, there's probably no way they could get the killer budget like first season (it was ¥13,000,000 per episode according to ANN) so sure the animation wouldn't be as pretty. But, even so, it shouldn't be THAT ugly. It's the first episode for goodness sake! I figured they wouldn't be able to get the old cast back, and it's not like I have an issue with the new one...it's just that the way the episode was directed was just...urgh. The girls seemed so normal and happy. @__@ Sounds weird but...Rico was happy and acting like a normal girl! That's just WRONG. And Hirscher was ugly! ~ish shallow~ Bishie Hirscher! ~sobs~

Anyway, yeah, I probably won't be watching anything this season too. Speaking of which...maybe I should finish Ghost Hound, El Cazador, Gundam, Zetsubo, Aria, Lucky Star, RomeoxJuliet...and whatever else I started like two seasons ago? Claymore doesn't count because I stopped watching at the end once they started moving away from canon. I don't have a problem with manga Raki but anime Raki is like this whiny brat that you hope if you glare at him long enough he'll spontaneously combust. He's like the crazy monkey man from High and Mighty Color who ruins all their songs with his incoherent screaming, only arguably worse. ~sighs~

Simoun fangirling rant
Procrastinated really badly today. Instead of doing what I should've done, finished watching Simoun. I'll excuse myself this time and consider it a couple months worth of anime watching seeing how I haven't been following anything recently. But that aside, it was totally worth it. I found my inspiration again and I feel refresh and ready to write.

As for the show itself...wow. I've watched a decent number of anime and I have to say that this is one is probably on the top of my list, if not my favorite show. Ever. I originally stopped watching it in the beginning because the blatant yuri fanservice (especially the first episode) really bothered me and I thought the whole thing would be centered around the gender issues. That and the character designs were gross. I mean ~points to Neviril~. Actually I dropped it twice. The first was when it first came out, after watching three episodes. The second was before summer vac and I got to 12 and then gave up. But I'm so glad I gave it another chance. Because the gender thing really wasn't too important in the story and the fanservice (aside from the funky outfits and funky eye-catches) was reduced to basically nothing. And not finishing it would've been a major regret.

And oddly enough, even with the whole cast of girls, my favorite pairing has to be the yaoi one. >.< OMGOSH THEY ARE SOO AWESOMELY AWESOME TOGETHER!!! /fangirl Seriously, Anubituf and Guragief are so awesome. And they had the best kiss scene, even if it was only half a second long. I have a new OTP, which is pretty rare seeing how I'm picky.

Looking at this series, I can't believe this kind of show got the budget it got/even got aired mainly because this is definitely not a show that will attract a large following. Most people won't get it or understand the themes that it deals with. And there's no niche fanbase it's catering for either. Mindless fangirling aside, Simoun has probably the best storyline I've ever seen. It didn't need to completely screw with your mind in the way Utena and Lain did, but it went at a decent pace and was utterly memorable. And it totally owned every Gundam I've watched(especially Seed and GSD) when it came to the whole theme of "war." The way it was handled was SO unbelievably mature. The way the characters dealt with it, the long pauses, the way tension was covered up with laughter...gawd, I can't believe I didn't finish watching this sooner. And the music was drool worthy and just beyond godly. I wasn't too fond the extraordinary bright colors or the character designs (which is one of the things I liked the least), but the art was still breathtaking. The animation on the most part was really nice and all the action scenes were smooth. And even if they reused a couple fight scenes, it was done tastefully. (I'm looking at you GSD). And most anime endings are always somewhat lacking, but Simoun's was just perfect, absolutely perfect. I don't care what anyone else says, it's perfect in that it's ambiguous. Complete endings are childish and unrealistic. And, frankly, you don't get better than this.

Convo we had while watching Lucky Star:

Sakura: Why are their conversations exactly like the ones we have?
fireclaw: You know, I never thought about it that way...but I knew it seemed familiar.
Kate: Sarah is so Miyuki.

That was after watching the first episode. After the third both of them swore someone had been listening into our conversations. Heh.

.hack//roots
Finally watched it. I mean, it's a Beetrain anime and a .hack, so of couse fireclaw was going to watch it. First impressions...well it was okies I guess. Nothing special, but interesting enough.

Besides FictionJunction Yuuka=love. ~sigh~ Silly-go-Round goes on sale May 10-ish...much sadness.

Speaking of music, I'm really surprised that it wasn't Yuki Kaijura doing the background music...but Ali Project. I mean o_O Ali Project? Guess they were going the darker gothic-ish music to accompany the setting this time around. Sure I like their songs, but recently (aside from Pastel Pure which kinda doesn't count) they've become rather generic/alltheirsongsoundthesame. The ending song for Roots sounds like Ashura Hime, Aka to Kura, the two Rozen Maiden OPs, and bunch of others. T__T why Kajiura, why are you not doing the music? ...on the otherhand, saves me from having to get yet another OST...

And speaking of the opening theme...please do not tell me that it was demonic Kite that I saw because--It seems so WRONG! I mean...demonic Kite ~dies of laughter~

As for the main character...debating whether not to like him. Reminds me too much of Sasuke, 'spes the hair. And his weapons are just silly. I mean, really really silly and impractical. Well, it's fantasy but still...daggers bother me. As for Shino...her hat is just silly. But I instinctly like her...which mean she's going to die, go insane, or have a huge change in character by near default...

Love the setting. New version of The World is very interesting, running around with PKers. Love the backgrounds as usual. Art is great, hoping animation will be awesome and there'll be more action in this .hack than the sign.

Blergh, yet another anime to watch...

Oh dear Alanor! Where has thou denizen's gone? Forsook you have they, thou beautiful pixilated page!

Waah. fireclaw wants to post. But methinks lenza died and Fia ish literally stuck in the rain with her char. And Alois already rain checked his spot and ish waiting for cuz to post and then dib, so…wargh!!!1!!1

So yeah, yesterday was a nightmare. Did I say 15 little boys? I mean 17 little, screaming monsters who stole the living room and the “parlor” of the house. Three X-boxes, one GC, and kids also brought their personal laptops. Man, I know we live in a rich county, but that’s just sick. Oh yeah, another kid brought his projector so they could play Halo 2 on the wall. Gawd, I get back from ACT all pissed off because I did dismal AGAIN on it…to hear all this screeching.

In the living room we have three TVs and a projector, kids swarming and positively screaming. Good gawd, my ears. And what they were saying. It’s just WRONG to hear 12-13 year olds screaming “whore” and other things. They swore more than I have my entire life in 20 mins. (then again I’ve never sworn out loud, just typed it…) In the parlor are five kids with their laptops, another sitting at the computer playing Warcraft III.

But, on the bright side, since I couldn’t concentrate (like I expected) I managed to get in some good anime watching time. Parents couldn’t bother me since they were to busy either trying to control those puny demons or going “shopping” (COWARDS!!!)

Anyway, I didn’t get far with watching Fate Stay/Night or Otome at all. Instead I finished the four Petshop of Horrors OVA and a few of the new season anime that I wanted to watch.

Otome 20
Just finished watching it. ~shakes head~

I'm more amused at Tomoe than angry and outraged. I mean, wow...at least she dreams big and actually does what she erm...wants to do? Yay for another character that's willing to overstep conventional boundaries to get what she wants?

But Shizuru! Shizuru...you are one crazy woman. I mean...willingly? I guess she...but there had to be another way. Natsuki must have like a Shizuru-is-going-to-be-molested-by-some-girl-11+ years-in-her-minor raydar. If this is like karma or something than grr @ Sunrise. Viola shouldn't pay for Fujino's actions. Gawd, the sound was so the sound of clothes being taken off. ~shuts down brain~

mergh, it's so pitiful that Nao and Tomoe have gotten farther with Natsuki and Shizuru onscreen than those two have with each other. I don't doubt there is going to be some happy ambiguious ending for the two, but seriously, what an interesting way to test everyone's favorite two ladies this time around.

I don't care about if Arika and Mashiro rekindled their friendship and whatever...
I don't care if Nina is lusting after "Otousan"
I don't even care if Sunrise is saving money with that poor quality animation.

But the ShizNats, don't you dare ruin it Sunrise! T___T ~insert rabid fangirl here~

Not to say that I don't have full confidence in Shizuru and that she'll do something right. unlike Cagalli And erm...I'm cheering for you Tomoe! Go for the gold! Like that one Chinese guy in skiing that I glanced over in parent's newspaper...and not the Canadian hockey team. ~snickers~ Man, you would think--actually, you wouldn't. Canada has a long and proud history of doing well in the Olympics, especially in hockey. Haha, Gibbons is so going to get owned once we get back to school. If not by his students than possibly a few teachers.

"Ha guess the only thing Canada still has is its maple syrup"

Fate/Stay Night
Fate/Stay Night...if you look around anime sites and stuff, you really can't escape this title. It's all over the web. Meh bored today and decided to take a break from madly trying to finish up the last of my homework (stupid trip !!!). So decided among other things to dl the promo for the said show. Ian has mentioned the series title once and a while...enough for me to remember the name and stuff. Actually, heard of the game since the times when fireclaw occasionally lurked in the GSD forums. So yeah, this title does summon some bits of intrique in fireclaw.

Hmm...I've watched Tsukihime while mild interest. Didn't realize it's H-game roots until that one amusement part episode. It did a pretty good job straying from that path which made the series far more tasteful. Still...that one scene was really wtheck!!! worthy and seemed so outta place. ~shrug~ This is what I get when my main anime correspondant and supplier is a guy. I end up watching stuff that I usually wouldn't touch.

Meh, Fate/Stay Night was licensed even before it came out. This alone makes me curious. Nevertheless, I have some confidence someone is going to fansub it. If they don't...it's still coming out on RAWS. If not in English sites, I can nab it off Chinese ones. I have my sources ~pulls on fake glasses and attempts to look very otaku...and fails~

Um the Trailer was interesting. Pretty too. Fights looked awesome. Background music they played was also nice (and a nice change from all the Yuki Kajiura fireclaw has been listening to) Though the seiyuu (particually the girls) raise alarm bells. I stake my life that Rin, the girl in red, is VA by the dude that did Yumi from Marmite. Trailer started with her speaking;if you don't look at it...gawd it's so Yumi. I'm also fairly confident that whatever the lead main ish called, if VA by the dude that did Uchiha Sasuke. (I knew there was a reason that I intially hated him besides the fact that fireclaw usually hates lead males until proven otherwise)

[EDIT: Gawd I was right. Not only that-- nearly all girls in the show have like..."yuri" voices. o_O Saber-Chikane, Sakura-Himeko, Rin-Yumi, Taiga-Sachiko. ~deeply disturbed~]

On another note, Archer is pretty. Silver hair dude!! Except for some reason ...he too rings alarm bells that makes him fall short of the "automatic bishie list". fireclaw distrusts his character. But...pretty-ish. He automatically gains a +5 coolness points for having silver hair. He gains another +3 when he said "I am the bone of my sword" in English. It didn't sound bad...actually sounded pretty cool. In his action sequence he looked pretty pretty. Though when I hear her voice, fireclaw'll automatically think "Yumi"...Archer's partner/master/whatever, Rin, is also pretty cool too. Chances are they'll end up as my fav chars of the series.

So yeah...I think the first epi was scheduled to air sometime this week. Somehow...I'll make the time to dl and watch it. Depend from there if I actually decide to keep it. Only following MO right now. Could use a change... Since the main leads a guy...hopefully I won't have to deal...~shuts up~

Meybbe it's because I been listening to Destination all of today, but like...Madlax won't get out of my head. For the most part it was superbly done. It was good that I was able to watch most of it in bunches or else I would've died. It did start to drag in some areas (fillers were not bad but they did drag a little) I liked most of the ending except for the last couple of seconds. Didn't like the modified "status quo" they had. There were too many senseless deaths in Madlax too. And the ending with Madlax and the "scary person" bothered me a whole lot. It was like...at the very end, after all that has happened..the "kind/gentle killer" goes back to being a mercenary and kills people along with the scary cockroach of a sniper lady? I think the show aimed too high but manage to deliever a masterpiece. Like just about everything fireclaw likes: you either like the show or you don't. That and you either understand what was going on or had no idea. Me...I loved the slight delving the show did into the human mind though that too could of been improved. ^__^ The show had strong female leads and not that much fanservice. It was nice. Liked both Madlax and Margaret Burton's character. well they ARE the same dudes

Hmm..."yasashii hitogoroshi"...for some reason, I really really like that oxymoron title of sorts. It's just cool...sorta poetic in my half dazed, sleepy head.

Bored now. Ahahaa...is this regret that I am feeling? This break I could've done a bit more...like studying for stuff. I did manage to finish all my homework...but didn't study at all for ACT, SAT, and midterms. Didn't bring the stuff for midterm studying...and the ACT book I brought along remains untouched. Not my fault either, I can't read on cars. Wasted hours on cars this trip in going nowhere of interests.

Although...I did finish three series: Erementar Gerad, Sensei no Ojikan, and now, Madlax. Tis funny. Two of the three: Erementar and Madlax's background music are done by Yuki Kajiura. Erementar's OP is FictionJunction Asuka. Madlax's OP, Ending, and two insert songs are all FictionJunction Yuuka. Moreso, they are all on the Destination CD. Died when I heard them. Wah, if only I loaded them onto my i-pod mini. Currently I want to listen to the full songs.

I liked Madlax the most of the three. Erementar Gerad was good for being a low budget anime and music, of course, was exceptional, but really wasn't my cup of tea. Sensei no Ojikan was like a not-as-funny Azumanga. Still was pretty entertaining. Madlax was fun. It was much like Noir. Meh...I want to finish Noir...watched the first four episodes. What amused me the most was not that four songs were on the FictionJunction Yuuka's CD but like...the overlying plot of the show along with like the 'philosophical' questioning of life, morals, and whatnot--dude it is exactly like the one fanfic I was planning to write in 8th grade. Like the plot was so much the same and like...I can quote places where actual phrases overlap with Madlax and my fanfic. Fic was for Zelda OoT. Gawd. That is seriously amusing. I was planning on twisting my fic a couple years from now after actually studying pyschology and socialogy to write a book. Now I might be charged with copyright infringment or something...

One more day and I can go back home. I hate this place.

INTERNET!!! FIRECLAW WUBS UUUUU!!! ~tearful~ Hilton Head sucks. There is nothing to do here. And you can't get internet connection unless you're in the activity center. And it's so slooow too! I'm getting like an 11mb connection and dl speed (according to Ian since fireclaw can't dl bittorent onto dad's comp) is also pitiful. And we're directly next to the hotspot.

Monday was pretty funny. We were at Savannah, Georgia (bout 40 mins from where we are staying). Did some window shopping and bought some last moment gifts and stuff. Around 1:30 we went eating at a riverside diner. I hade something weird, methinks an oyster. Two hours later started breaking out in hives and coughing really badly. It was painful like no other. Gawd, I'm never ever eating seafood anymore outside of home. It just sucks. Still don't know what fireclaw gets allergic reactions to. gawd...no more. Maybe fireclaw should go vegan or something. I can take pain...but this is just waay ridiculous.

Finished two series already. Ian brought an entire cd case of anime so...to cure boredom been watching much. One of the series was Erementar Gerad. It was so-so. Good for a low budget anime but not that great. I've watched the first epi before so I knew what to expect. Yuki Kajiura rocks and she was the reason the show---

gawd finish later. have to leave now.
